To create this picture I used a bottle containing chocolate milkshake, I wanted to create the effect of the figure being captured in the bottle. I did this by placing the bottle in front of the camera and using the view finder I got the figure to move back until I had the correct position. I feel this has worked well.
INGE MORATH Jerry Uelsman
BIOGRAPHY:
Inge Morath is a Australian photographer who was founded by a top photography foundation in Paris called Magnum Photography, and became a full photographer with them in 1955. Ingeborg Morath was born in Graz,Austria. Her parents were scientists whose work took them to different laboratories and universities in Europe during her childhood. First educated in French-speaking schools, Morath relocated in the 1930s,white her family Darmstadth, a German intellectual center, and then to berlin where Morath's father directed a laboratory specializing in wood chemistry.
I have chosen Inge Morath because I find it fascinating how she uses brown paper bags with drawn faces on to disguise the models and always takes her pictures in black and white. In my opinion it gives the picture emotion and it looks better.
In order for me to capture the same effect that she has in her photographs I will have to also take my pictures in black and white and disguise my models. And i think her theme would suit me.

This is one of my favorite photographs because, the Photographer has tried to show the emotion of the people in the picture by the images of the faces that she has drawn.I love the combination of black and white.

Jerry Uelsman:
Jerry Uelsmann is a surrealist photographer that was born in Detroit, Michigan. While attending public schools, at the age of fourteen, he sparked an interest in photography. He believed that through photography he could exist outside of himself, to live in a world captured through the lens. Despite poor grades, he managed to land a few jobs, primarily photographs of models. Eventually Jerry went on to earn a BA from the Rochester Institute of Technology
Jerry is one of the oldest photographers alive at the age of 79. he began teaching photography at the University of Florida in 1960 then after 7 years of teaching photography, he got his own art show, which was very popular and got him lots of jobs as a photographer. The photograph he is most famous for is the hands. The cupped hands that show a picture. He has won many awards for his photography. In 1967, he won the Guggenheim fellowship. Following in 1972, he won the National Endowment. Then finally in 1994, he was put into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame! His work is mainly shown in America but he has travelled to make art shows in places, such as: London, Canada, Paris, Australia, Scotland, Korea and Tokyo.

Step by step demonstration of how I edited this photograph.
EXPERIMENT:1
drowning
Experiment:2
experiment:3
The overall effect of the edited image is strong and I am pleased with the outcome, I think the opacity gives the photograph a haunting effect. If I was going to improve this further to add more depth to the image I would have added more of a tonal range and added some shadows to the photograph by using more layers duplicating the photographs and not taking the opacity layer down in all places.
EXPERIMENT:4
This is how it looks when the editing is done
I really like this edited photograph and I am surprised by how effective combining something so large as a big wheel and the macro photograph of the floor have merged together so well. I think it is the similar tones and colours in the photographs that help to combine them so smoothly.
